Endodontic (root canal) treatment

Endodontic (root canal) treatment is one of the more common procedures performed at a dental practice. It is indicated in cases of an infection of the tooth pulp (the richly innervated tissue inside the tooth) or mechanical trauma. An untreated tooth becomes an inflammatory focus and affects the health of your entire body.

If a root canal treatment is performed for the first time, the procedure is called first-time root canal treatment. If a specific tooth needs to be treated again, we call this a root canal retreatment. Indications for re-treatment include improperly performed first-time treatment, leaky root canal filling, failure to find all root canals, emerging inflammatory lesions, dental instrument fragments remaining in the roots, etc.

Our practice has innovative equipment for automated preparation of canals and their tight filling. We always work under microscopic magnification, which gives us an accurate view of the treated tooth and minimises the risk of missing any additional canals. We also specialise in retreatment and removal of broken instruments stuck in the canal lumen.
